National Fitness Day 2021

Today is National Fitness Day and is an opportunity for us all to consider the role physical activity plays across the UK and a chance for us to consider the benefits of becoming more active for us all to lead healthier lifestyles.

It also presents a great opportunity to celebrate strong, determined and healthy women, and they don’t come any better than Fair Ways’ super athlete, Danielle Cheyney, our Pastoral Manager at Fair Ways School.

Danielle is rapidly becoming one of the best ‘competitive functional fitness’ athletes around and has further endorsed her status by finishing in 1st place in the Team event at the recent Turf Games.

This type of event draws together multiple highly skilled disciplines into one event rather than competing in one-dimensional activity such as running. This competition was created for everyday people to work out, lift weights and stay fit, and presents a great opportunity to maintain health and fitness for people outside of organised team sports.

Danielle describes her recent success, saying “It was an amazing experience and I really enjoy being involved in such a great community, winning this competition (1st place from over 30 teams) has been incredible and we have now been entered into a draw for the Under Armour Dubai Turf Games (28 Oct – 6 Nov 2021)”.

We think Danielle is a truly inspiring lady and a great role model for all of us within Fair Ways.
