Fair Ways Swanwick School is closed following a serious fire on Friday 09.07.21. Thankfully, the school was unoccupied, and the cause of the fire is understood to be accidental.
Equally, there were no injuries to any staff or young people working in our adjacent service, Manor Farm and this service remains fully operational.
The damage to the school is significant. Fair Ways Disaster Recovery Plan has been actioned and Fair Ways Education will continue to deliver a school service for the remainder of the summer term, albeit this may have to be done virtually and or from another Fair Ways school location.
Fair Ways will have a fully operational school open by the start of next term.
We recognise this news will be distressing to both staff and our young people and their families. We are working over the weekend to directly contact all those most immediately impacted. We will be actively providing support to our staff and our staff also remain available to provide support to any young people.
The central point of contact for all queries is as follows:
Dan Pitt – Head of School, Swanwick
Email: Dan.Pitt@Fairways.co
Mobile: 07761 511345
Dan and the team will be in contact to confirm the school arrangements for next week. We will also be providing regular communications to parents, pupils, and Hampshire Local Authority over the coming period to ensure all are fully aware of our plans as they unfold.
